Geraldine Phillips

Geraldine Francis Phillips, 86, of Pocomoke City, Maryland, died on Friday, August 22, 2014, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Born May 11, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN, she was a daughter of the late Luther M. and Rissie E. Acton Hart. Her husband Robert L. Phillips, Sr. preceded her in death, February 20, 2003. A graduate of Mooresville High School, she worked in condominium management and was a devoted homemaker raising her five children. She had a particular love of all animals, but especially cats and was member of the Worcester County Humane Society. She is survived by five children; Robert L. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Cathy of Ocean City, Steven W. Phillips and his wife Wendy of Pikesville, Sue Heinmuller and her husband Charlie of Duluth, MN, Donald E. Phillips of Ocean City and Joseph A. Phillips and his wife Susanne of Clayton, NC; Nine grandchildren, Leah, Stephanie, John, Sarah, Kelly, Evan, Andrew, Paige and Mary Michael; one brother, Charles Hart; one sister, Maxine Kemble; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Clay and Carl Hart. A memorial service will be held at Noon, September 4, 2014 at the Holloway Funeral Home, P.A. in Pocomoke City where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the Maryland Veteran’s Cemetery, 6827 E. New Market Ellwood Road, Hurlock, MD 21643. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Worcester County Humane Society, P.O. Box 48, Berlin, MD 21811.
