Lois Wilder Brittingham, 70, of Salisbury, died on Friday, June 6, 2014 at her home. Born on September 2, 1943 in Norfolk, VA she was the daughter of the late Burnley C. Sr. and Ruby J. Wilder. She graduated from Wi-Hi in 1961 and from James Madison University in 1965 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. Following her graduation she taught Phys Ed at Indian River High School in Dagsboro, DE. Later she opened her own business, Wilder’s Kennel in Dagsboro and continued the business for over 30 years. Lois loved her family and her friends and was the mother to many “furry friends”. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Baltimore Orioles and Colts. Traveling, playing bingo and going to the slots were her favorite past times. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald “Britt” Brittingham and a niece, Lori Ann Bailey. Lois is survived by her brother, Burnley C. Wilder, Jr. and his wife Bonnie K. of Millsboro; two nieces; Deana W. Lynch and Crystal L. Hastings, one nephew, Burnley “Bandit” Wilder, III, six great-nephews; Peyton, Billy, Joshua, Logan, Devon and Phoenix, her loyal friend and caregiver, Betty Magnatta and her loving canine companion, Rufus.
