Wayne Brittingham

Wayne Culver Brittingham, 74, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake. Born in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of the late Le Roy Culver Brittingham and Bernice Powell Drummond.
He was a 1957 graduate of Pocomoke High School and a 1962 graduate of Salisbury State College. Mr. B, as he was known, worked for the Wicomico County Board of Education for 38 years, teaching math at Bennett Middle School and Wicomico Junior High. During summer and winter breaks, he often worked for the former Ralph and Gaskill’s. He also umpired high school and little league baseball.
He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Rebecca “Becky” Brittingham; 2 step children whom he came to love as his own, Kim Howlin and her husband, Bryan and Keith Neus and his wife, Loren, all of Charlotte, NC; 4 grandchildren, Will Howlin, Adams Neus, Ella Howlin and Mollie Neus; an aunt, Nina Blackwell of Accomack Co., VA; 2 cousins, Ardis Crockett of VA and Carol Wilkes of FL; a sister in law, Beverly Compton and her husband, Ray of Holden Beach, NC; a mother in law, Elsie Adams of Salisbury; also dear to his heart was the Nichols family and many other close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in law, Willard Adams.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, November 24, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Inurnment will be private at Wicomico Memorial Park.
