Phyllis Thompson Lambertson, 86, of Salisbury (previously of Pocomoke City) died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Coastal Hospice by the lake in Salisbury. Born in Pocomoke City, April 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Joshua M. Thompson and Mable Richardson Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Willis C. Lambertson in 2001. Mrs. Lambertson graduated from Pocomoke High School in 1946. She was a member of Lynnhaven Baptist Church in Pocomoke City. She started working at Ames Department store where she helped open the Salisbury office, and then later transferred to Pocomoke City and retired as an office manager. She was an auxiliary member of the American Legion, Post 93. Phyllis’ pastimes were working on crossword puzzles, watching westerns, reading books, writing poetry, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One of her greatest treasures was keeping her home decorated for the holidays, her teddy bears, and to have all of her many clocks ticking. Her love of flowers inside and out will continue with her family. So take time to pick a daffodil or pick a lilac bloom and think of her. She is survived by her three children, Billie S. Morris (Gerald) of Salisbury, Daniel N. Sturgis (Cathy) of Deep Creek, VA, Nancy S. Watson (John) of Salisbury; Grandchildren, Gregg (Autumn) Morris, Eric Morris, Leah Morris, Joshua A. Newman, Meagan E. Driggers, Tammy Watson and Ryan (Lien) Watson. Great grandchildren; Kaden Brice, Margaret Morris, Grayson and Kaitlyn Morris, Kelsey, Jacob and Justin Watson; a sister, Patricia T. Wiggins, a sister-in-law, Sara Thompson, and many nieces and nephews. Proceeding her in death are her four brothers, Lee Ray, Joshua, William, and Richard; two previous husbands, Calvin L. Sturgis and George T. Holland. Special family friends, Kenny and Bev Watson, Connie and Fred Ward. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 P.M. at the Salem United Methodist Cemetery in Pocomoke City. Arrangements are being handled by Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine St., Pocomoke City. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Coastal Hospice on the lake, or the American Legion of Pocomoke City.
