Marilyn Strait of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Montpelier Ohio on April 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Carson and Flossie Cummins. She is survived by John Strait, her loving husband of 67 years. In addition she is survived by two sons, Steven Strait and his wife, Linda and Philip Strait; two daughters, Connie Gilhooly and Laura Littleton; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two sisters Doris Emenhiser and Lois Conolly. Marilyn sang in many choirs, including the Community Singers. She was a 42 year member of Asbury United Methodist Church where she was very involved in her church Altar Guild, Chiming Belles, prayer group, United Methodist Women and volunteered in the office. She worked for many years at the Gospel Shop. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Wilson and her grandson, Ryan Gilhooly A funeral service will be held Monday, November 16, 2015 at 11:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Springhill Memory Gardens.
