John Kenneth Behrens, 81, of Ocean Pines, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Berlin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, he was the son of the late John Behrens and Gabrielle French Behrens. “Ken” was a devoted owner and operator of Jean & Ken’s Garden Center in Salisbury for 54 years, reluctantly retiring in 2013. He lived and loved going to work every day and going home to his family in the evening. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jean Marie Zulli Behrens; 3 daughters, Debbie Radsick of St. Petersburg, FL, Dale Marie Behrens and her husband, David Bradford of Ocean Pines and Denise Lynne Williams and her husband, Philip of Hebron; 5 grandchildren, Billy Lipphardt, Ashely Schmidt, Erica Galeone, Danielle Barlow and Andrea Bounds; 6 great grandchildren; and a pet cat, “Baxter”. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Tamara Tuttle. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior. Rev. Howard Travers will officiate. Donald Murphy, Sr.

Donald Dwight Murphy, Sr., 86, of Ocean Pines, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, he was the son of the late Thomas Clarence Murphy and Mildred Lucile Hudgens Murphy. Don retired in 1990 as a shop foreman for Chesapeake-Dolphin Sheet Metal. He was a WWII US Marine Corps veteran and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 100 . He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Ann Murphy Bitner and her husband, Steve of Sunset Beach, NC; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and many friends and neighbors in Ocean Pines. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Rosalie O’Dea Murphy; and 2 children, Donald Dwight Murphy, Jr. and Patricia Gayle Conner. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 5:00 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation 30 minutes prior. Officiating will be Rev. E. Wayne Holland. Linda G. “Spike” (Ashton) Strom, 67, of 446 Parker Street, Gardner, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness. Linda was born in London, England on September 24, 1946, the daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy (Crickx) Ashton. She was raised and received her education in Lowell, MA. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. Linda enjoyed cooking, motorcycle riding, camping and going to Foxwoods Casino. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. Linda was a member of the West End Beagle Club of Gardner and was a bartender many years ago at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner and the Gardner Fish and Gun Club. She leaves her husband of 27 years, Leo R. Strom of Gardner; three brothers, Chester Ashton of Lowell, Arthur “Butch” Ashton and his wife Diane of Billerica and Paul Ashton of Lowell; one sister, Shirley Morse and her husband Bruce of Haverhill; two grandchildren, Morgan and Nishia Welch of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her daughter, Holly Welch who died in 1992 and by her grandson, Joshua Welch who died in 2004. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 25th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Kenneth Lee Sensenig, 80, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in New Holland, PA, he was the son of the late Walter Zimmerman Sensenig and Pauline Baer Sensenig. He was a member of the West Congregation, Jehovah’s Witnesses. He presently was working as a security guard for Admiral Security at Delmarva Power. He retired from Lance, Inc. in December of 1998. He enjoyed Bible teaching, reading, fishing and spending time with his family. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 58 ½ years, Betty Ann Tatum Sensenig; 3 sons, Terry Wayne Sensenig and his wife, Elizabeth of Staunton, VA, Teddy Lee Sensenig and his wife, Kathy of Salisbury and Nathan Todd Sensenig and his wife, Teresa of Delmar; 4 grandchildren, Bradley, Erin, Benjamin and Morgan; a sister, Joanne Davies of Hutchison, KS; several nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, “Jakie”. Theodore G. “Ted” Benoit, 61, of 167 Hubbardston Road, Templeton, died peacefully, Tuesday, June 17th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a brief illness. Born in Leominster on October 28, 1952, he was the son of the late Philias L. and Irene (Doucette) Benoit. Ted was a truck driver employed by Aggregate Industries of Lunenburg for 8 years. He graduated from Leominster High School with the Class of 1970. Ted was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing, boating, lobstering, camping and hunting. He was known as Mr. 50/50 for his many years of volunteering at Narragansett Regional High School sporting events. Ted was also known for his signature lines, “thanks for coming in…” and “got 2 10’s for a 5?” He leaves his wife of 20 years, Diane M. (Bacon) Benoit of Templeton; two sons, Christopher J. Nardone of Gardner and Ben T. Benoit of Templeton; one daughter, Sherry L. Benoit-Corriere and her wife Rose-Marie Benoit-Corriere of Leominster; one brother, Louis C. Benoit and his wife Caroline of Leominster; two sisters, Gloria I. Cormier and her husband John of Leominster and Doris E. Benoit; five grandchildren, Mario Adamo, Roger R. LaCross, Ryan R. LaCross, Shane M. Lacross and Kiara M. Benoit-Corriere; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ted was predeceased by one brother, Emile Benoit. Born in Pittsburg, PA he was the son of the late Wallace Edgar Nobbs, Sr. and Helen Stewart Nobbs. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Wallace Edgar Nobbs, III and his wife, Louise of Timberlake, NC and Courtney M. Nobbs and his wife, Elizabeth of Baltimore; grandchildren, Kenneth M. Nobbs and his wife, Poppy of Salisbury, Kelly M. Duffy and her husband, Orlando of Clarksville, TN and their daughter, Brooke; brothers, Kenneth E. Nobbs of Pittsburg, PA and Thomas E. Nobbs of Ocala, FL and a sister, Eleanor Miller of Butler, PA. He was preceded in death by his wife Clarice M. Nobbs on September 8, 2012. Gerard J. “Choker” “Jerry” Maillet, 93, of 125 Connors Street, and formerly of Baldwinivllle, died peacefully Wednesday June 18th in Legend Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, surrounded by his family. Born in Bouctouche, NB, Canada, on June 29, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lydie (Bernard) Maillet. Jerry received his GED in 1949. He attended Stevens Business College, was licensed as a real estate broker, was a licensed private pilot and a licensed 2nd class fireman dealing with high pressure boilers. He was a licensed construction supervisor and self-employed contractor of Maillet Roofing & Siding until retiring in 2007. He was previously employed at S. Bent Co. of Gardner from 1982 to 1997 as a 2nd class Fireman. Jerry was sole founder and owner of Chair City Oil Company from 1947 to 1953. He also an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. He was a member of the Athol-Orange Aero Club, Roger P. Warfield Post of American Legion of Baldwinville, Ovila Case Post 905 V.F.W. of Gardner, and was a close friend of “Bill”. Jerry was an avid golfer, cribbage player and was a registered bee keeper for 20 years who enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was also a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and received the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Service Star. Mr. Maillet leaves 2 sons, Kevin Maillet of Massachusetts, Rene Maillet of Athol; a daughter, Cheryl Moriarty and her husband Edward of Vacaville, CA; 3 sisters, Odette “Dixie” Niemela, of Gardner, Berta Martin of Manchester, NH, and Evangeline Sayers of Hartford, CT; a son-in-law, Ronald Dupuis of Athol; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 step-granddaughter and 2 step-grandsons. He also leaves a close friend, Helen Dockum of Baldwiniville. He was predeceased by his first wife, Theresa (Dugan) Maillet, his second wife Yvette M. (Paulin) Maillet, his third wife Anne (Donovan) Maillet; a daughter, Lisa M. Dupuis of Athol who died June 16th, 2014; a son, Carlton Maillet who died in 2001; a brother, and several sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St. Gardner, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date. Philip L. “Phil” Bosselait, 33, of 14 Marquette Street, Gardner, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 in his residence. Born in Gardner on August 13, 1980, he was the son of John R. and Priscilla A. (Graf) Bosselait of Gardner. Phil was most recently employed by McNally’s Restaurant of Westminster, and was formerly employed by Baldwinville Station of Baldwinville. He enjoyed bike riding, hiking and spending time at Dunn Park. Philip loved animals, especially his cat “Mischief”. Philip also enjoyed watching his favorite cartoons “Loonie Tunes” and “The Three Stooges” on television. Besides his parents, Philip leaves three brothers, Peter A. Bosselait of Woburn, David A. Bosselait and his wife Jamie of Gardner and James M. Bosselait of Orange; two sisters, Susan M. Dusoe and her husband Alfred of Winchendon and R.J. McKenna of Utah; one aunt, Doris Pratt and her husband Robert of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard ‘Dick’ G. Greanier Sr., 81, of 30 Madison Way, Hubbardston, died peacefully Sunday, June 22nd in Legend Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Gardner, following a short illness. Born in Northampton on December 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Leo G. and Honora M. (Joy) Greanier. He was an instructor in the Human Resources Department of the Claremont Flock Corporation of Claremont, NH for two years until retiring in 2005. He was previously employed in the Personnel Departments of Westminster and Maynard Digital Corporation. Richard enjoyed visiting historical sites, camping, dining out and driving his car. He especially loved his dog, Gavin. Mr. Greanier was very active in the Boy Scouts of Chesterfield, MA and also with the local Monadnock Council. He was predeceased by his wife, Aurea (Augusto) Greanier, who died in 2006. He leaves two daughters, Mary-Ann Greanier and her life partner, Wayne Bryant of Plainville, Susan O’Coin and her husband Brian of Templeton; 2 grandchildren, April Joy Tamulen, and Karin Ann Tamulen and her husband Brian Hart. He also leaves his life partner, Joan McCarthy of Hubbardston and a close family friend, Cindy Kennedy. He was predeceased by a son, Richard G. “Buddy” Greanier, Jr . who died in 1984, a brother Robert F. Greanier and a sister, Mary-Ann Greanier. A Celebration of his Life will be held Saturday, June 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Baldwinville American Legion Post 373, 3 Central Street, Baldwinville. Betty Sharpley Miles, 82, of Pocomoke City, died on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at her home. Born in Greenbackville, VA on April 28, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Gibb and Kathryn Sharpley. She was a member of Atlantic United Methodist Church in Atlantic, VA and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #88 in Temperanceville, VA. Betty loved being around people but especially loved spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, William Carroll Miles of Pocomoke City; a daughter Kay White and her husband Robert of Pocomoke City; three grandchildren, Rob White and his wife Nicole, Kasey White and Justin White and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Hayleigh White. Margaret Donalds 81 of Salisbury, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Oriole, MD she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lena Bedsworth. Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Henry Donalds of Salisbury; son, Gene K. Donalds and wife, Cheryl of Allen; grandchildren: Gena Donalds of Allen, Lori Meilhammer and Nikki Meilhammer both of Salisbury, Jamie Taylor of Allen Johnathon Donalds and Steve Meilhammer, Jr. both of Salisbury and great-grandchildren: Casey Sessoms, Camryn Sessoms and Stiles Gaskins all of Salisbury. Christopher Jameson Stephens Gaul (“Jessie” to his family and friends), 22, of Newport Beach, California, passed away on June 17, 2014 in California. A native of Salisbury, MD, Jessie was born on April 6th, 1992 at PRMC to Dr. James Richard Gaul and Lynn Karen Stephens Gaul. Jessie was a 2010 graduate of the Salisbury School and was attending Orange Coast College. He spent several summers particpating in the La Merced Medical Mission traveling to Nicaragua which inspired his dream of becoming a trauma surgeon. He also photographed pro surfers with his burgeoning company Full Grizzly Photography and was part owner of ABC Surf Shop in Newport Beach, California. An avid surfer himself, Jessie never felt better than when he was in the waves. He was also an experienced hunter, an accomplished marksman and a member of the Salisbury Gun Club. Jessie had a generous heart, was a well known lover of cats and dogs, and a mentor to recovering addicts. Bob Marley, one of Jessie’s favorite artists, said a man’s greatness is measured “in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively.” By that measurement, Jessie was pretty great. And one gnarly Ming. In addition to his parents he is survived by his beloved grandmother, Jean H. Stephens, and sister, Jamie Lynn Flacco and her husband Jordan of Tuscaloosa, AL. Carmela was born on January 27, 1925 in Connellsville, PA, to the late Antonio and Filomena Carbonara. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was a member of the Sister Mary Clare Guild and served as a volunteer at the Carriage House. Her favorite hobby was dealing on Ebay but her greatest joy was her family. In addition to her parents, Carmela is preceded in death by her husband, Dan M. Winn. She is survived by her children, Marsha Marsden and her husband, Rick, John R. Winn and his wife, Sharon, Brenda C. Keller and her husband, Richard, Daniel M. Winn and his wife, Julie; grandchildren, J. Matthew Keller, Stephen Madison Winn, R. Eric Winn, Jennifer L. Murphy, Jason M. Winn, Daniel M. Winn Jr, John D. Winn, James M. Winn and a sister, Patricia Aman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury. Erline Elizabeth miller Bailey of Sharptown passed away, Friday, June 27, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was the daughter of the late Sylvester M. Miller, Jr. and Cora Del Ridgely Miller born September 21, 1921. Her mother passed away when Erline was three years old, Later her father married Eunice Lamb who was a kind and loving step mother and all of them loved her. Erline Married Elbert “Bert” C. Bailey, Jr. October, 18, 1974. They retired from DuPont February 1981 at which time they began to travel, seeing many beautiful sights over the years. She is survived by a daughter Shirley Milligan and her husband Roland, Rebecca Adshead and her husband Cary Sharptown, Joanne Jones of Salisbury; Three granddaughters, Shelly Hall, Michelle Savage of Salisbury and Sharon Bramble of Newport News, VA; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and stepson, Craig Bailey of Annapolis, MD. In addition to her parents and step mother she is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Edgar, S. Maxwell, R. Elwood; granddaughter, Karen Adshead and a stepson, Gary Bailey. Florence Mehl Wootten, 77 of Salisbury died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, due to injuries sustained in a household fall. Born in Riverton, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. & Margaret A. Mehl. Flo graduated as valedictorian from Mardela High School and got her degree from Western Maryland (now McDaniel) College and a Masters from the University of Connecticut. She taught English in public schools in Seaford, Delaware, and classes at Salisbury University and Wor-Wic Community College. She was a writer for the Baltimore Sun and Maryland magazines and was featured in many publications, including Cosmopolitan. Flo also published a novel, “Those Who Can, Teach.” Flo loved game shows and, in the 1970s, appeared on “Concentration” and “The Who, What, and Where Show.” In the early 1980′s, Flo entered into the Real Estate profession and was often ranked as one of the top agents in the local area. Flo was also active in the community, helping to start the local League of Women Voters and Junior Books program. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa Windsor and Marian Unterman; her sister, Kathryn Miller; her sons-in-law, David Unterman and Ronnie Windsor; and her grandchildren, Jessica Windsor and Jake and Luke Unterman. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 9:30 AM at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Salisbury. The Rev. David Michaud will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home. Interment will be in Parson’s cemetery following the church services. Mary Elizabeth Watson Nock, 94, of Pocomoke City died Sunday, June 29, 2014. She was born in Pocomoke City, MD on April 26, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Walter William and Mae Elizabeth Phillips Watson. She was preceded in death by husband Norman C. Nock, daughters Joyce McGee Parsons and Pamela Mariner, brothers Walter “Pete” and Robert Carson Watson, and son-in-law Eddie McGee. She is survived by daughter Deborah Guy and her husband Dean and sons-in-law Wayne Parsons and Munroe Mariner. She had eight grandchildren, Karen Hess (Danny), Lori Holland (Fred), Kristy Hudson (Bill), Leah Huey (Rick), Joy Venere (Rich), Amy Culbertson (Matt), Stacey Moloney (Dan) and Jonathan Guy (Sarah) and 20 great grandchildren, all of whom cherished and adored their “Mom Nock”. She also is survived by sister, Dorothy Mae Webb, sister-in-law Eunice Watson and several nieces and nephews. Mary’s life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She took pride in gathering all of her family together frequently throughout the year. A beloved matriarch, her grace, good humor and kindness never faded in spite of her failing health. Mary will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Sally Dolch, will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Salem United Methodist Church, 2nd and Walnut Streets, Pocomoke City, MD. Friends and family are invited to gather an hour before the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD. Ronald Robert Windsor, “Pop-Pop”, 60, of Mechanicsburg, PA, formerly of Salisbury, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Holy Spirit Hospital in PA. Born on August 2, 1953 in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Norman Lamont Windsor and Helen Ennis Windsor. He attended Wicomico Senior High School and went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. For many years, he worked as a printer for Webcraft, then went on to retire from UPS in Mechanicsburg in 2012. He is survived by his son, Jacob Norman Windsor; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Lettmann and her husband, Mark; 2 grandchildren, Ruby Windsor and Brennen Lettmann; a sister, Deborah Sue Windsor; as well as his late companion’s 3 children and 4 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Richard Windsor and his companion, Terri Schaum. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Holloway Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Terri L. Wilson Zimmer, 62, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her home. Born in Salisbury on September 2, 1951, she was the youngest daughter of the late Clifford W. Wilson and Florence I. Huntington Wilson “Skeeter”, of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Y. Robertson in 1995 and a brother-in-law, Carroll Robertson in 2006. Terri is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, James Zimmer; a sister, Sharon W. Hitchens and her husband, Rodney of Salisbury; a devoted daughter, Crystal L. Thomas and her husband, Jerry of Federalsburg; and a grand-son, Chase Thomas. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Heather Guy and her husband, James, along with a step-grandson, James and a step-granddaughter, Jasmine, all of Salisbury; a nephew, two nieces, cousins and many friends. Terri grew up in Salisbury, was a 1969 graduate of Wicomico Senior High School. She worked for the State Highway Administration for 27 years, retiring as an Office Supervisor at the Salisbury Maintenance Shop. The family wishes to thank all friends, loved ones and medical staff for their love, care and support through the years. Additionally, thanks goes to Dr. Lorraine Jarrah, Dr. Robert Chause and Dr. Anthony Frey. Special thanks to nurses, Frances Hitchcock and Theresa Shaver. Frank J. Simmons, 66, of 62 Kilbourn Road, Lancaster, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 in Life Care Center of Leominster, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with prostate cancer. Frank was born in Bermuda on August 6, 1947, the son of the late Napoleon and Elizabeth (Sagur) Simmons. He was a master carpenter employed by Local 33 Carpenters Union of Boston for 18 years, retiring in 2008. He was formerly an oil rig worker. He also worked as a fisherman, and was a diver for underwater construction. Frank enjoyed and was an avid New England fan of golf, baseball and football. He enjoyed gardening and watching Westerns on television. Frank also loved throwing darts and rolling dice. He leaves his wife of 13 years, Gay L. (Flagg) Simmons of Lancaster, two daughters, Shaune Simmons of Hamilton, Bermuda and Amanda Basso and her husband Anthony of Winchendon; two stepdaughters, Sadie Lavigne of Lancaster and Nicole Carlsburg and her husband Melsen of Boston; four grandchildren, Tyra Simmons, Ivy Basso, Connor Basso and Ruby Santos; one great-grandchild, Cody Harris; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Frank was predeceased by his 13 brothers and sisters. A calling hour will be held Thursday, July 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.
