Nellie Hughes

Nellie Mae Parrott Hughes, 85, of Hebron, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 9, 2015 with her family at her bedside. She was born on June 13, 1929 to the late Harry C. Parrott, Sr. and the late Lottie Rhea Parrott. She was married to Marion B. Hughes, Sr. for 57 years who preceded her in death in 2005. She was a graduate of Easton High School and employed by Airpax in Cambridge until her retirement. She was a loving mother of 3 children, Marion Bennett Hughes, Jr., Nancy Hughes Parsons and Kenneth Lee Hughes, Sr; 8 grandchildren, Jaime Lofland Gambrill, Melody A. McIntyre, Kenneth Hughes, Jr, Kelly Lofland, Brooklyn Hughes, Jacob Hughes, Matthew Parsons and Crystal Keene; several great grandchildren; a special friend, Judy Willing; a godson, John Garrett; a special son-in-law, Larry Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Marion B. Hughes, Jr; a grandson, Ben Lofland; a great grandson, Brian McIntyre, Jr; 2 brothers, Harry C. Parrott, Jr, and James William Spedden; a sister, Lucille Garrett. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 12 noon at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron with Chaplain Sharon Hutchison officiating.
