Ruth B. Moore, 86, died Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake, after suffering from Alzheimer’s for over seven years. Born on June 22, 1928 in Perryville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Baldwin and Laura R. Baldwin. She grew up on the grounds of Perry Point Hospital (now Perry Point VA Medical Center) where her father was an occupational therapist. She later attended Salisbury State Teachers College (now Salisbury University) from which she graduated in June 1949. The previous November on the 25th, she married Marshall W. Moore. They lived in Salisbury until the late 1970’s, moving to Baltimore where Mr. Moore was a vice president of Loyola Federal Savings & Loan Association. Upon his retirement in 1988, they moved back to Salisbury. Mrs. Moore was active in the various women’s circles of Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury. She and her husband were members of Green Hill Yacht and Country Club. While living in Baltimore, she was a member of the Florence Crittenton Home for Unwed Mothers. She is survived by her husband, Marshall W. Moore, and her daughter Clary M. Jackson, her son David Moore, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Marshall B. Moore in 2010 and two older brothers and one older sister. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 12 noon at Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury. The Rev. William A. Kniceley and the Rev. Eric Warner will be officiating.
