Phyllis Parsons Taylor, 86, of Pocomoke City, died Monday, April 7, 2014 at Atlantic General Hospital after an extended illness. Born May 18, 1927 in Pocomoke City, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Robley and Bessie Mariner Parsons. Phyllis loved surf fishing, the beach and going to the ocean and was a member of First Baptist Church in Pocomoke City, MD. She is survived by one son Kevin Taylor of Mappsville, VA; three grandchildren; Christopher Taylor of Selbyville, DE, Eric Taylor of Accomac, VA, and Sara Taylor of Pocomoke; three great grandchildren: Eric, James and Braden Taylor; three special nieces Wendy, Bonnie and Lynne. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband LeRoy W. Taylor; a son, Gregory “Gregg” W. Taylor; four sisters Hortense Bunting, Ann Schaufert, Betty Lou Tull, and Christine Brittingham and two brothers Lawrence Robley “L.R.” Parsons and Jackie Mann Parsons. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 AM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke. Arrangements were in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, 107 Vine Street, Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851.
