Mary Ida Baker, 90, of Delmar, died on March 7, 2014 at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Belalton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Dora Wilson “George” Welch and Mary Alene Murphy Welch. Ida began working early in life beginning at McCroys Department Store and then for McGregor Shirt Factory. She enjoyed her career working for the Sears Roebuck & Company for 38 years. She loved flowers and gardening but especially spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by 2 daughters, Brenda Sue McCauley & husband, Jim of Delmar and Deanna Holland of Salisbury; 5 grandchildren, Eric Holland, Brian Elliott and Scott Elliott, all of Salisbury, Aaron Bergeron & his wife, Allison of Delmar and Kara Johnson & her husband, Ken of Whiteman AFB, MO; 8 great grandchildren, Andrew & Austin Bergeron of Delmar, Shianne, Siarra & Wil Elliott of Salisbury, Karis, Kenzi & Kenan Johnson of Whiteman AFB, MO; a brother, James Lemuel Welch of Snow Hill; and a daughter in law, Peg Elliott of Salisbury. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph William Baker, a son, Wilmer O. Elliott, a brother, Wilson Welch, 2 sisters, Margaret Hilda Lynch and Florence Elizabeth Moore and an infant sister, Mildred Welch. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Howard Travers will be officiating. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Memorial contributions can be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
