Kathleen A. Black, 76, of Salisbury, died peacefully on Monday, March 3, 2014, at her home with her daughters by her side. Born in Powellville, she was the daughter of the late H. Frank and Bessie Jones. Kathy attended WorWic Community College where she received her RN in 1980. She worked for many years for Daniel Eisemann, M.D., and was proud of her contribution in starting his practice. In 1989, Kathy went to work for Coastal Hospice. She retired in 2006 after 17 years of dedicated service. She was beloved by her many patients and their families throughout her nursing career. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard L. Black and two brothers; Earl and Ronnie Jones. Kathy is survived by two daughters; Kimberly Martin Simpson and her husband Tom and Lori L. Black, both of Salisbury. She leaves two brothers; Melvin Jones and Robert Jones, one grandson; Daniel Martin. She will be sadly missed by Rick Martin and her best friend of 56 years; Joyce Hearne. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private.
