Louis Emerson Reeves, 79, died on Monday, November 25, 2013, at his Pocomoke City residence, following a long battle with cancer.
Born July 18, 1934 in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was a son of the late Ralph Reeves and the late Wannie Hedge Reeves.
Following his high school graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving for six years during the Korean War in Okinawa. Lou joined the NOAA weather service as an electronics technician in 1966 and retired from there in 1993. He was a Life member, Past Exalted Ruler, and Past District Deputy of The Pocomoke B.P.O.E. #1624. His hobbies included bowling, especially on the Senior League in later years.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley Gentry Reeves; son, Richard A. Reeves of Baltimore, MD, daughters, Teresa L. Adams (John) and Kathy A. Thompson and her longtime companion Tim Simpson all of Pocomoke City, MD; one sister, Brenda Reed of Crowley, TX; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
An Elks Memorial Service will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Holloway Funeral Home located at 107 Vine Street Pocomoke City, Maryland 21851 where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
