Ben (Buddy) Cobb Jr., 79, of Salisbury, Maryland, passed peacefully away at home November 16, 2013. He was born in Hildebran, North Carolina, on April 22, 1934 to Ben and Elizabeth Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Jane, of Salisbury; children Beth (Darrell) Allman of West Virginia, Daryl (Karen) of North Carolina, Susan Edgar of Georgia, Wanda Griffin of Fruitland, Lois Campbell of Salisbury, Linda (Mike) Riggleman of Delaware, Harvey (Robin) Campbell of Parsonsburg; grandchildren, Christene, Joey, Brook, Josh, Ashley, Jared, Jessica, Daniel, Kelsey; great-grandchildren, Juliana, Emmett, Macy Jaynes; sister Carolyn Smith of Georgia and brother Gary (Sharon) of North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

After high school graduation Buddy served in the Air Force for four years, being stationed in Korea, Libya, and the United States. He settled in California for the next twenty years, returning home to North Carolina. There he met and married the love of his life, Jane. After spending 28 years in North Carolina, they moved to Salisbury, Maryland.

“Pop-Pop” adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, recounting precious anecdotes to all. He loved the water, especially the beach, where he spent many summers with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Buddy was a history buff, always curious and asking questions. He loved to ride down new roads, and knew every back road wherever he lived. Buddy was also an avid reader throughout his life; of late, he enjoyed television documentaries as well as comedies.

Buddy was loved dearly by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Rev. Ronald G. Parker will officiate.
