Charlotte Smullen

Charlotte W. Smullen, 82, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Atria Assisted Living in Salisbury. Charlotte was born April 4, 1931 in Salisbury, to the late Charles Ercell and Charlotte (Figgs) Wimbrow.
Charlotte along with her late husband, J. James Smullen owned two companies in Salisbury, a mechanical contractor company and a pool and spa store. She enjoyed the 3 bridge clubs she played in and she was a 55 year member in one club. Knitting was her love and she had been knitting since high school.
She is survived by 2 sons: Charles D. Smullen and his wife, Eileen of Mardela Springs and J. James Smullen III and his wife, Nancy of Palm City, Fl; grandchildren: J. James Smullen IV of Florida, Charleen and Kathleen Smullen of Mardela Springs; step-grandchildren: Joe Derbyshire and his wife Emily and Chris Derbyshire and his wife Leighann; step-greatgrandchildren: Madison, Landon, Adison and Dylan Derbyshire; a sister and her husband, Barbara & Donald White of Delmar; nieces: Luanne Phillips and her husband, Wayne of Annapolis, Donna Elliott and Trudi Caryand her husband, Randy of Burlington, NC; a nephew, Gary McMullen; great-nieces and nephews: Jonathan Elliott, jennifer and Ashley Isakson. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim Smullen; and 2 sisters, Natalie McMullen and Beverly Bounds.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury.
