Bryan Fletcher White, 25, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2013. Brian passed in his home in Wymissing, PA.
Formerly of Laurel, DE he was a 2005 graduate from Sussex Tech and a Deans List graduate of the University of Delaware in 2009. An Eagle Scout, Bryan began his career with the Boy Scouts of America as district executive servicing Wicomico, Worcester and Somerset Counties. Bryan was able to attend two national Jamborees’, the first as a participant and in 2005 he was on staff as a counselor in the scuba and snorkeling area. He was a certified scuba diver thru the Boy Scouts of America. At the time of his passing he was district director for Hawk Mountain Council of Reading, PA. Bryan was a member of the Odd Fellows Charity Lodge 27, Delmarva Search and Rescue and a volunteer fireman at the Wymissing Volunteer Fire Department. Bryan had a love of people, nature and learning anything and everything. His mom and dad instilled in him at a very young age to be respectful, helpful, and always keep a sense of humor. To honor his memory the family asks that you do one good deed a day.
He is survived by his loving parents, Bob and Linda White of Laurel, De; godmother, Wanda Dawson; grandmother at heart, Eunice Lee Burkett; two special aunts, Cheryl Graphman and her husband, Pat, Kelly S. White; uncles, Fred and Richard White; special friends, Jack Adams and Elizabeth Fitzgerald; Bryan’s life time best friend, Brad Benson; lifetime University of Delaware roommate, Shane Touissant. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of beloved cousin’s, extended family and beloved friends and his companion and best friend, his dog, Sugar Magnolia.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Ruth White; maternal grandparents, Earl and Winnie Kelley and godfather, Edwin Smullen.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 6 pm – 8pm at Holloway Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Julie Lewis will officiate. Interment will be held at Wicomico Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Bryan’s memory to Boy Scouts of America Delmarva Council, 100 West 10th Street, Suite 915, Wilmington, DE 19801 or Hawk Mountain Council, 5027 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605-1284.
