Franklin Johnson

Dr. Franklin Leroy Johnson, 73, of Hebron, MD, died on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD.
Born August 17, 1940 in Baltimore City, MD, he was the son of the late E. Sterling Johnson and the late Ida Bloss Johnson.
Dr.Johnson graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1966 and then served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain from 1966 to 1968 in Vietnam. Following his military service he served a Fellowship in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1974. He then embarked on his successful career as an allergist in Salisbury for nearly 40 years. Dr. Johnson had many hobbies and interests and excelled in them all, but will be best remembered for his model ship building.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bridget, one son, T. Brendon Johnson (Kim) of Salisbury, MD; two daughters, Deirdre Johnson of Saint Cloud, MN and Katherine McAllister (Brian) of Salisbury, MD; four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Olivia and Finley Johnson and Liam McAllister; one beloved sister, Linnea Gregus and her daughter Gwen of Timmonium, MD and several much loved nieces and nephews from his Houlihan family.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2013 at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, where family and friends will gather two hours prior to the service. Interment will be private in Wicomico Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the P.R.M.C. Foundation, the F.L. Johnson Endowment, 100 East Carroll Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
