Salisbury – Barry Walter 56 of Salisbury died Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born in Salisbury, he was the oldest son of the late William R “Bill” Walter and Joanne Rue Walter. He was preceded in death by a son Patrick James Walter.
He was a 1976 graduate of James M Bennett High School and attended Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Va. Barry was employed by Hydro Designs, Inc. of Troy, MI for nearly 20 years and was most recently the Vice President of Business Development & Training. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother, whose greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He is survived by stepmother, Charlotte Trader Walter of Delmar, DE; a son, William “Brian” Water and his daughter-in-law, Shannon Saterstad of Salisbury; three siblings, Lynn Walter Phillips and her husband, Bob of Salisbury, Vicki Walter Young and her husband, Lewis of Salisbury, James Brian “Butch” Walter and his wife, Pam of Berlin. Two grandchildren; Ava Quinn and Levi Brian Walter of Salisbury, six nieces and nephews; Matthew, Morgan and Logan Phillips, Woody and Walker Harrington, Wade Walter, several aunts, uncles, many friends and his devoted yellow Labrador, Hutch.
He was a dedicated supporter of the Navy football program, a loyal Green Bay Packer fan and an avid NASCAR follower.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Springhill Memory Gardens.
