William Edgar Armstrong, 74, of Salisbury, died on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Anchorage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. Born in Blades, DE, he was the son of the late Jackson Carmine and Edith Virginia Armstrong Hammond.
Bill was a US Army veteran and a self-employed painter and advertisement salesman for over 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Marie Jones Armstrong, whom he married on May 10, 1969 at the Parkway Church of God in Salisbury. He is also survived by 3 children, Teresa Ann Williams and her husband, Curtis, Annette Christine Armstrong and Frances Marie Vojacek, all of Laurel, DE; 5 grandchildren, Tammy Lecates, Dale Davis, Tony Williams, Kevin Williams and Curtis Williams; 4 great grandchildren, Spencer Lecates, Shannon Davis, Nathan Williams and Amelia Williams; 3 sisters, Betty Smith, Charlotte Cropper and Sharon Barto, all of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Kevin Williams, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens near Hebron. Rev. Greg Morris will officiate.
